Welcome to Morinville Colony
We calve from the start of January to the first week of March. We run approximatly 500 cows and our program is from "field to consumer". Our herd is bred base Black Angus with cross Black/Simmental ternimal . We creep feed our calves as soon as they are 3 weeks old to obtain maximum growth. All calves are vaccinated after calving using the Pfizer Gold program. In the fall we repeat the Pfizer Gold program again. We run a closed herd with healthy calves. We wean at around 280 days of age, then they are placed in our feedlot where we background them to around 900 lbs , and then they are sold.
